Young Rider Camp is from 9:00-11:00am and is $199.  There is an optional 3rd hour to extend the camp till noon (additional $99).

These camps are best for children who have seldom ridden and are looking for an introduction to riding basics, horse care, and responsibility taught in a safe and fun environment. Riders ages 5 – 12 will come to the stables for 5 days (Monday through Friday) to learn what it’s like to own and ride your own horse. There is an optional third hour (Lunch with Horses) where campers participate in bonus activities such as obstacle courses, bareback riding, and a costume parade!

Each rider learns basic horse care skills, such as grooming, hoof cleaning, tack care, barn chores, and how to maintain the well being of horses. Each child will ride every day and they will receive individual attention while riding. The instructor stays with the rider and horse, on a leadline, and helps them maintain proper position while guiding the horse. The emphasis of this camp is on safety and respect for the horse and his care, and offers a full picture of life around horses, and is very introductory in the riding portion.

Campers are organized into groups of 5-6 and rotate through four 30 minute stations:

  1. Grooming
  2. Riding
  3. Horse chores
